It was highly preferred in the production of consumer goods between 1930 and 1950. It is a heat-resistant, hard material. When heated, it gives off a phenolic odor due to its structure. Catalin is more colorless than bakelite types. Its colorlessness allowed it to be painted in vibrant colors or designed in a moiré manner. Catalin material is a material that was produced in the past and has no continuity today.
