Sugar Free Natural Erzincan Mulberry Molasses

Erzincan Mulberry Molasses, which is made with traditional methods from special mulberries grown on wild mulberry trees in the steep land of Kemaliye, is naturally sweet and does not contain added sugar.

Mulberries are collected in July, sorted and dried. When molasses is made, dried mulberries are taken into cauldrons and boiled and turned into must. The resulting must is transferred to trays and left to mature under the sun until it acquires the consistency of dense molasses.

This centuries-old flavor, known as steppe tahini or double-roasted tahini, is made by squeezing the sesame collected from the Manavgat region using traditional methods in stone mills. Sesame seeds, which are purified from their bitterness by soaking in water, are peeled a day later and cooked in wood fire for five hours.
